- Abstract
Aim: The aim of the study was to analyze whether there is an addiction toward videogames among dental students. Material and Methods: The present study was conducted in Chennai among randomly selected dental students using a questionnaire. The question was related to addiction to videogames. Results: In the present study, dental students play video games among the 100 dental students. About 80% of the students were having the habit of playing videogames, nearly about 45% videogames for about 2 h or even more than that time. An equal percentage of them tried to overcome their addiction and other half of them did not take the initiative to come out of their addiction. The daily tasks of the students were also skipped very often for 25% and 25% had never skipped the tasks. Conclusion: From the study conducted, we can conclude that dental students are addicted toward video games. Dental students, due to the heavy workload, stress they play video games, and finally, they end addicted toward video games.
