- Title
Nontraditional Family: How Do We Live as a Family Today?
- Authors
Lantz, Nancy
- Abstract
The author highlights the projection of a family as 'traditional' or 'non-traditional' while referring to a recent story published in newspapers about Emily, whose grandmother offered to be the surrogate mother for her own grandchild. She highlights about 25 percent households conform to traditional families while 30-60 percent don't. She also discusses the increase in divorce rates, and remarraiges and the recent trend of adoptions by single mothers as a culture of 'non traditional family.'
