- Abstract
The article "In plain sight. Sexual violence in armed conflicts" is a review of the book by Gaby Zipfel, Regina Mühlhäuser, and Kirsten Campbell. The book addresses the topic of sexual violence in armed conflicts and includes contributions from researchers and experts from NGOs in various disciplines. Four key perspectives for understanding the research field are presented: war/power, violence/sexuality, gender/engendering, and visibility/invisibility. The book offers a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches and discusses various conflicts. It highlights the need to consider sexualized violence in conflict analyses and raises questions about the appropriate treatment of the topic.
