- Abstract
The article describes pediatric glaucoma, a disease occurring in infants and children characterized by optic nerve damage secondary to increased intraocular pressure (IOP). It notes that treatment requires the prevention of optic nerve damage by lowering IOP. It states that developments including rebound tonometry, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) are changing the field of pediatric glaucoma.
