- Abstract
The article examines business bankruptcies with the use of the number of annual failures and the number of businesses in the market to derive the bankruptcy rate in Canada. They are considered indicators of the economic pressures connected to economic downturns of a country or region or the health of business management. The trends of the country's bankruptcy reveals how various regions react to these pressures and provides a basis for the comparison of regional economies.
