- Abstract
Introduction: The incidence of colorectal cancer is increasing in Spain. There are significant differences depending on geographical location, sex and anatomical location. Methods: We calculated adjusted incidence rates and annual percentage of change for the joinpoint method to assess trends. Results: The annual percentage of change, statistically significant, were in colorectal cancer in men (APC: 11.25%) and colon cancer in men (APC: 7.53%). Conclusions: We observed an increasing trend in the incidence of colorectal and colon cancer in men possibly due to environmental influence and the health system.
