- Authors

- Abstract
The so called '1930 Revolution' in Brazil changed to a significant degree the political and party alliances within the federal government and in the public state administration. The political group from the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, headed by Getúlio Vargas, concocted several strategies to occupy the main posts within the governmental machine that was being established. Current article analyzes the conflicts and the struggles caused by party leaders of the states of Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo to achieve power and centralization of Getúlio Vargas's provisional administration.
