- Abstract
Wild bees have ecological and economic importance as pollinators of several wild plants and crops; hence they are often termed keystone species. Andrena Fabricius, 1775 species are commonly known as sand bees. This is one of our most abundant genera of bees, both in species and individuals. Andrena is the largest genus of bees, comprises more than 1500 valid species. All species of sand bees burrow their nests into the ground. Many species are polylectic, They polinate many of the wild and cultivated plants belonging to different families and help the success in producing. In agriculture and wild life, sand bees are so important in the identification and conservation of the fauna are of value for our country.
