Environmental Medicine.
- Abstract
The article discusses research on environmental medicine. A study on the effects of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) contamination of water indicated that there is increased risk of congenital anomalies among children of mothers exposed to PCE. A study on deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) revealed that arsenic biomethylation contributes to aresenic induced oxidative DNA damage (ODD) and have links to cells that can accelerate in vitro cancer phenotype. Higher lead concentration in women can lead to higher mortality than women with lower blood lead concentrations.
