The article presents a report from Walter Shields, the superintendent of the Northwest District and Bureau of Indian Affairs in Buckland, Alaska, concerning the establishment of the Buckland High School in 1913. The school house which is made of log cabin is covered over. It is partly paid for by the natives, thereby making them more interested in it and in the work of the children. The way of living and culture of the people are also tackled.
