- Abstract
The article presents a speech by John M. Greaney, a law professor and associate justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, delivered at the 2009 Chief Judge Cooke Symposium. He discussed his participation in the Goodridge same-sex marriage case. He detailed the five opinions written by the court supporting and objecting same-sex marriage. He cited two state constitutional provisions they considered before arriving at a decision which are due process rights and equal protection concerns.
