- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on liver disease induced by radioembolization of liver tumors. It references a study by Bruno Sangro et al, published in the 2008 issue of "Cancer." The authors found that in all, 20 percent of patients developed a distinct clinical picture that appeared four to eight weeks after treatment. They concluded that radioembolization of liver tumors may result in a life-threatening form of hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome.
