- Abstract
The article focuses on the institutionalization of the Child and Adolescent Trial for Cardiovascular Health (CATCH) program and the school climate in the U.S. CATCH program provided opportunities for studying how the physical and psychosocial structures of schools are associated with continued implementation of the CATCH program. Components of the program were assessed including observation of physical education classes, nutrient analysis of menus, and evaluation of reports of teachers and staff. The results of the study reveal that aspects of school climate were associated with continued classroom component of CATCH but not with physical education or food service component.
