- Abstract
The article offers information on the Miranda warnings, a part of the confessions jurisprudence in the U.S. It refers to the U.S. Supreme Court case, Miranda v. Arizona, during which the Supreme Court revised its laws related to interrogation and confession. The Miranda warnings states that the suspect must be provided with information regarding his Fifth Amendment rights by the police before their custodial interrogation. The Miranda warning protects defendants from coercive interrogation environments. It mentions that the Miranda warnings is an effort by the Court to gain control of the police and their investigatory procedures by regulating the interrogations process.
