- Abstract
The article explores the outcomes of trigeminal neuralgia (TN) patients treated with microvascular decompression (MVD) in a regional neuroscience unit at Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast in Northern Ireland between October 2011 and November 2014. The 32 patients underwent MVD during a 37-month period of which 28 had medical therapy alone prior to MVD. The most commonly encountered in the cohort of patients in terms of post-operative complications are wound infection, hearing loss and CSF leak.
