- Abstract
The article examines myths and truths surrounding the life and reign of Egyptian heretic pharaoh Akhenaten during the Tell el-Amarma period. Information is provided about the birth of Akhenaten, the early years of his reign and his temples at Karnak. It highlights the proclamations on the Boundary Stelae, a series of 16 rock-cut inscriptions that memorialize the move of the royal family and officials to Amarma, that tell the intentions of Akhenaten regarding the city.
