The article presents insights on the political and social implications of the executions of African American Troy Davis and white supremacist Lawrence Brewer. Topics discussed include the meaning of capital punishment within the context of biopolitics and state sovereignty, the vital role of the society in the implementation of capital punishment, and the social relationship of capital punishment with the executed and the executioner.
