- Abstract
The article discusses that the Utah legislature enacted a law addressing that what should be done if minor is incompetent to stand trail which went into effect in May 2012. Topics discussed include the procedures followed by the juvenile court after filing the motion, addressing the criteria by the evaluator during mental evaluation, and study conducted by the congressional committee which determined that juveniles remained incarcerated due to their inability to access mental health treatment.
