- Abstract
The Elections of February, 1936 are presented in Valladolid press as a historic and momentous day in which Spain and anti-Spain face each other. This work analyzes the evolution of the discourse of the «right wing» from these elections to the beginning of the war in Valladolid, through the newspapers with most diffusion, El Norte de Castilla and Diario Regional. In this territory where Socialism and Falangism had an important implementation, the variables are given to check what elements made up the propaganda before and after July 18th, the politicization of the press and the ideological adaptation of the forces in coalition. The rapid dominance of the rebel military anticipates what happened at a national level, articulating their discourse around war, the Church and social assistance.
