- Abstract
This article proposes a critical Deleuzian exegesis of Pierre Perrault's political thought, taking as a starting point Perrault's idea that, "A fictional movie fllms the story that is being told. A documentary tells the story of what is being filmed". The first section of the article, entitled "Relationship (The Territoire de I' Âme)" analyzes the director's two founding principles with regard to cinema, namely friendship and memory. The second section, "Representation (Writing)", attempts to systematize the theory of representation underlying these principles. This allows for a final section, "Conspiracy (Content) ", to define Perrault's political thought and legacy as libertarian materialism, whereby speech acts are understood as a matter of conspiracy, as the expression of a deep commitment to freedom, and as the primary function of a strong relationship with the earth.
