The article presents a case analysis which examines the microfinance crisis in Andhra Pradesh (AP), India in 2010. It states that the government has tried to replace the informal and high interest sources to reach out with the poorer people in the country. It adds that the deteriorating portfolios of AP have provided severe impact on the flow of funds to Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) from both investors and banks.
