- Abstract
The article focuses on two contrasting decisions on arbitration produced by the U.S. Supreme Court in February and March 2008. It notes that in the case Preston versus Ferrer, the court held that the Talent Agencies Act of California was superseded by Federal Arbitration Act (FAA). Also cited is the decision of the court in the case Hall Street Associates LLC versus Mattel which states that the parties could not agree to expand the scope of an arbitration award review contained in the FAA to cover errors of law.
