- Title
development of spatial personalities: a comment on Stuber et al.
- Authors
Mabry, Karen E
- Abstract
Recent contributions have highlighted that while there is much to be gained by integrating concepts from the fields of animal personality and movement ecology, these research areas have largely developed in isolation (e.g. [4]). Previous attempts to synthesize the effects of animal personality traits on movement behavior across species were hampered by a limited number of empirical studies (e.g. [7]). Although in most studies of animal personality, behavior is quantified in constant environments, spatial personality traits as conceived of by Stuber et al. are most often evaluated through tracking the movements of free-living animals in the wild.
