- Abstract
Waste is any material, product or object that becomes redundant and unusable after its use. Without further possibility to satisfy its use value, it is discarded in the landfill, ie. landfill. The waste we encounter every day is packaging waste. Packaging waste is a material used in the production cycle to pack and transport consumer goods. A good way of disposing of waste is recycling. The term recycling means the conversion of waste material into a new product and its reuse, which contributes to the reduction of environmental pollution, saving energy and natural resources. Recycling involves the process of collecting recyclable waste (plastic, aluminum, glass, paper, metal, etc.), then separating recyclable from other types of waste and sorting into subgroups. Consumption of plastic products has increased significantly over the last few decades. There are many reasons to use plastic products. These are, among others, the low price of raw materials, low weight and various processing possibilities. In addition, the specific energy consumption per unit of product is much lower for plastics than for other materials used as packaging. Plastic packaging is the material with the highest growth rate in the previous decade. Plastic waste is considered usable for recycling if its physical and chemical properties have not been changed.
