- Authors
Kraus, Larry L.
- Abstract
The article presents an analysis on the First Amendment to the Constitution and the high school students' rights of Assembly and Petition. It states that the U.S. First Amendment to the Constitution was ratified on December 15, 1791. It mentions that one of the cases involving high school students related to First Amendment Assembly rights happened in South Carolina in 1963. Furthermore, it says that in 1984, the U.S. Congress passed the Equal Access Act, which requires schools to allow any clubs requested by the students to be formed, with several conditions including voluntary attendance, is student-initiated, and is not supported by the school itself.
