COSSMAN, BRENDA
- Abstract
The article explores the parallels between same-sex marriage and polygamy. It highlights the rise of conflicts as a site of same-sex marriage politics and the way in which these marriage cases are implicated in the politics of recognition. Furthermore, it relates the focus on same-sex marriages or civil unions entered in one jurisdiction that migrate to another and calling upon the private law of conflicts. The relationship between legal and cultural recognition in migrating same-sex marriages is also discussed.
