- Abstract
The work presents the findings of rare or from faunistics point of view important species of beetles from the vicinity of the town of Kunovice in South Moravia. The number in parentheses after the family name indicates the number of species represented in this article: Buprestidae (12), Bostrichidae (1), Carabidae (10), Cerambycidae (20), Curculionidae (1), Elateridae (6), Eucnemidae (2), Geotrupidae (1), Chrysomelidae (4), Melandryidae (4), Meloidae (3), Nitidulidae (1), Ptinidae (1), Scarabaeidae (10), Tetratomidae (2) and Zopheridae (1). The oldest finding dates after 1993, but the vast majority of data fall into the period after 2000 and are therefore evidence of the recent occurrence of these species in the monitored area. These are mostly thermophilic elements of our fauna, and many of them appear in the current Red List of Threatened Species of the Czech Republic.
