- Abstract
The article discusses the aestivation habits or burying in mud or sand by the soft shell terrapin Lissemys ceylonensis aquatic turtle in Sri Lanka. Topics include reference to the visit to the Kaludiyapokuna monsoon forest in Dambula Matale district in the Central province of Sri Lanka, half buried turtles in stream bed covered by carapace as well as specie protection under the Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance at Antigama in the Puttalum District in the North Western Province.
