A Technique for a Cast Metal Immediate Removable Partial Denture.
- Authors
Grove, H. F.
- Abstract
The article presents a technique for a cast metal immediate removable partial denture placement. A treatment plan is developed by using diagnostic casts, a surveyor and radiographs. The design for the partial denture is drawn. An irreversible, well-extended hydrocolloid impression is made of the arch that requires restoration and a cast of dental stone is made. Then the casts are fixed on a semi-adjustable articulator. The designing of the metal framework on the master cast along with its fabrication and fitting is described. A secondary impression is made and master casts are completed. The denture teeth are selected and the dentures are remounted in the articulator after processing and the occlusion is refined. The denture is inserted immediately after the extraction of teeth.
