Abstract
The article discusses the mucosal changes in the hard palate and the health risks brought by tobacco smoking in the changes. It cites an example of a patient who was being treated for Duhring's herpetiform dermatitis. It states that the changes of leukokeratosis nicotinica palati were observed in the area of the hard palate of the patient. It notes that quitting from smoking may result to gradual healing of the mucosal changes in the hard palate.
