- Abstract
The article comments that learning may only be achieved with the active involvement of the learner. New experiences provide us with opportunities to grow. But these experiences may only be accomplished with the willingness of the learner to undergo such predicament. Thus, learning is something that the learner decides to do. Learning has corresponding risks, wherein one should be willing to be exposed on situations where things may not turn out well. For without conviction and courage to go through uncertainty and risks, learning may not be achieved. These principles have been applied to teaching. A challenge has been posed to teachers in the U.S. by suggesting that a true teacher must be able to bridge the gap between cognitive and affective.
