An essay is presented on writing and communication as effected by the technological advances of the information age. The author argues that the predominance of the internet and the blog culture has created innumerable outlets for writers but also provided for provincialism and insulation on the internet. Shock culture and extremism that proliferates blogs is discussed along with the relationship between blogs and literature and art.
