- Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the difference inperceived parenting styles and hardiness in rural and urban adolescents. The sample comprised of 300 (150 males and 150 females) adolescents in the age group 14-17 years studying in rural and urban schools of Jaipur District. They were administered perceived parenting scale(Bhardawajetal. 1995) and hardiness scale (Singh, 2008) to measure the variables perceived parenting style and hardiness respectively. One way ANOVA followed by post-hoc test revealed a significant F-ratio on five out of seven modes of perceived parenting style and on hardiness. One of the significant findings of this study was that urban girls scored highest on hardiness and five out of seven modes of perceived parenting style as compared to other groups.
