- Abstract
The article discusses the religious freedom followed by the English people at the Massachusetts Bay focusing on the Charter of 1691, Whig leadership, and the issues caused due to the amalgamation of the church and state. It discusses the establishment of Baptist associations such as the Warren Association during the late 18th century. Also discussed is the Ashfield Law of 1768 and the role of Elder Isaac Backus in the Separate Baptist crusade for religious freedom.
