The article features L. Venchael Booth, crusader of freedom. This crusader's stride toward freedom for African American Baptists did not have as his guiding star the Civil Rights Movement, as some have argued. Rather, the yearning that led to his passion was his desire to build a convention honoring tenure that would elect officers of the people, by the people, and for the people.
