- Abstract
The article focuses on the move of Japan and South Korea to improve their self-defence capabilities in defending their territories against threats as well as to maintain an acceptable power balance in the region. It discusses the increasing focus on the development of layered defences as well as well-equipped surface vessels providing anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, and anti-submarine warfare. Other information such as Osprey helicopters and Amphibious Assault Vehicles is presented.
