- Abstract
Ever since the contribution of Albert Einstein (estimated IQ 160), intelligence has been so overrated that it has become a prime tool for predicting the employee performance and success on the job. But it was not until the introduction of Emotional Intelligence (also known as EQ: Emotional Quotient) that took performance prediction to the next level whereby employee success was related to individual's emotional stability. Studies exist that positively relate EQ to leadership qualities, better job performance, and achievement of individual's occupational goals and also to organizational success. The present study is aimed at predicting occupational success by studying two major variables, i.e., Social Intelligence (SQ) and Cultural Intelligence (CQ). The role of SQ and CQ in occupational success is examined in a step-by-step process.
