- Title
Efficient and final causes of alcohol consumption.
- Authors
Tucker, Jalie A.; Vuchinich, Rudy E.
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the article "Increased behavioral economic demand and craving for alcohol following a laboratory alcohol challenge" by M. Amlung and others. They mention that the study truncated the Alcohol Purchase Task by having one question asked for each demand curve measure and suggests while this is consistent with mainstream psychological science, it runs counter to behavioral economics (BE). They claim the authors' perspective understates the possible value of BE analyses.
