- Abstract
The doctoral thesis entitled "In Search of a Feminist History of Basque Art. Weaving New Genealogies. 1950-1972" reviews the history of art in the Basque Country from a feminist perspective, opening up new paths to imagine other stories. The thesis follows the chronological structure of the Aránzazu Basilica project in 1950 to the Pamplona Encounters in 1972. It analyzes the construction of historical discourse, the relationship of female artists with the category of "artist," the influence of geopolitics on artists who lived outside the Basque Country, abstraction as an androcentric element, the techniques and materials used by female artists, and the category of "political art." The thesis concludes with some conclusions and a bibliography.
