Identifying Business Risks.
- Authors
Axson, David; Hackett, Greg
- Abstract
The article reports on the need for financial executives to monitor risk and evaluate opportunities, both internal and external, to ensure the long term survival of a company. One of the most critical roles provided by the finance group is to add value to the organization through reducing the impact of poor business decisions, extending and maximizing successful business ventures. Four steps for long term survival are risk based warning systems, refocus performance reporting, change to short term analysis, and use intuition in decision making.
