The article reports on a study related to synapse formation. According to a new study, netrin-G2 ligand interactions with netrin-G2, induces excitatory synapses. The study demonstrates that NGL-2 is a postsynaptic cell-surface protein that instructs the formation of excitatory synapses. The characterization of NGL-2 as a synapse-inducing molecule contributes to one's understanding of the role of synaptic adhesion molecules in excitatory synapse formation.
