- Abstract
The article discusses a report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention describing an investigation into a case of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in a patient who worked for an office furniture installation company. The patient was a 46-year-old male born in the U.S. who showed extensive bilateral upper and lower lobe infiltrates with cavitation and a positive test for acid-fast bacilli. The importance of prompt diagnosis of TB and the effectiveness of methods for rapid identification and screening are underscored.
