- Title
Cum timore et tremore: Religious Culture, Affective States and Bodily Comportment in Auxerrois Commentaries.
- Authors
GREENE, Thomas A.
- Abstract
The article presents the author's insights regarding the insights on the biblical passages in 1 Corinthians of the two Carolingian monks such as Remigius and Haimo of Auxerre, France. The author states that the writings of Remigius and Haimo define an emotional context in Eucharistic theology during the period of Carolingian. He mentions that Haimo's interpretation of 1 Corinthians is relevant to Eucharist and the presence of Christ. He adds that Remegius offers an angelic devotion of the Eucharistic celebration as laity pattern.
