- Abstract
The article discusses study on use of photo-identification to identify Chrysemys picta bellii (C. p. bellii), western painted turtles in long-term demographic studies. It mentions the use of plastron markings on C. p. bellii from Chapman Lake in Durango, Colorado. It adds the problem of using the technique in late summer when the turtles shed their scutes. It also adds photography of plastrons using a Canon 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) camera.
