- Abstract
Objective: To determine patient perception of care received after the introductory course in clinical patient-centered approach, targeting physicians System of Integral Attention to Health of the Universidad Veracruzana. Methods: a diagnostic evaluation through the Instrument PPPC 268 patients, where convenience sample to physicians chosen for them to come to the "Clinical Introductory Course to the patientcentered approach (MCCP)" later A final evaluation was performed using the same instrument, surveying 227 patients, different from the previous ones, both doctors who attended and those who did not attend the course, and the results were compared (before and after) to determine the perception of Patients in both groups of physicians. A detailed description was made to present the results. Results: Women predominated patients whose main complaint was chronic disease control and occupation workers. Of the doctors who attended the course were mostly men with an average age of 42 years, with an average seniority of 8 years. In the doctors who did not attend the course the average age was 53 years and average seniority of 14 years of work. Doctors who attended the course in accordance with the overall score (first, second and third component) of the PPPC, obtained in the diagnostic evaluation ratings satisfied completely and in its majority of 66% of patients surveyed; and 9% dissatisfied score. Post-course, in the final evaluation, 81% rated them as completely and mostly satisfied and only 2% as dissatisfied. Conclusions: Patients of doctors who attended the course showed a better perception of your practice from the perspective of clinical patient-centered method after the intervention.
