- Abstract
Main Outcome Measures Dynamometric strength measurements were used to calculate the side-to-side hip abductor strength asymmetry ratio in both a neutral and extended hip position. Results Subjects with preclinical PFPS demonstrated no significant difference in hip abductor asymmetry in both a neutral and extended hip position compared with controls ( I P i =.2272, I P i =.6671). Objective To determine whether hip abductor strength asymmetry exists in female runners before the development of clinically significant patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS).
