The article focuses on how television audiences use the television show "MasterChef Ausatralia," (MCA) and related programs, particularly in terms of vicarious consumption. It discusses how MCA influences the mass audience to integrate foodie culture into their everyday lives, appreciating gourmet food culture into their lifestyles, but feel limited by time, health, money or confidence. It reveals that audience use MCA in a productive way to discipline their own eating and spending habits.
