- Abstract
An essay is presented that discusses and presents the field reports of William Hansen, better known as Bill, a worker for the civil rights group the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), on the desegregation of downtown Little Rock, Arkansas in 1962. The author notes that Hansen came to Little Rock at the request of the civil rights group the Arkansas Council on Human Relations (ACHR). Hansen's role in organizing sit-in protests at department-store lunch counters is considered.
