- Abstract
In chapter 9, Sobo outlines the many ways that inequality and structural violence shape biological experiences including a discussion of syndemics and other health inequalities. As part of her effort to build a unified approach to biocultural interactions, Sobo takes the time to include epigenetics as a means to examine how biology and experience intertwine. Specifying the integrative nature of gender, biology, and culture offers critical points for discussion and highlights how powerfully biology and culture can interact.
