- Abstract
The article presents a study which compares incubation time and susceptibility with prion protein containing lysine at codon 171 in the sheep prion gene. It cites the structural similarities between Arginine (R) and lysine (K) in adding prion disease susceptibility in sheep. It states that the study collects tissues for immunohistochemistry and performed Western blot analyses. It is inferred that sheep with a single K allele is susceptible to scrapie but with lengthened incubation time.
